Pain Assessment In Patients Who Receive Hemodialysis Treatment

Aim: Pain is an important health issue that common among patients who receive hemodialysis (HD) treatment and greatly affects the patients’ quality of life. This study aims to assess qualitative pain characteristics HD using McGill Questionnaire. Materials Method: quantitative, descriptive cross-sectional included 87 received treatment. Data were collected information form Questionnaire in clinic a training research hospital Turkey between 01.04.2019 31.09.2019. Results: The found mean current scores moderate (2.13±0.56). determined experienced most often lower extremity (36.8%) head region (29.9%) least upper (11.5%). procedure (44.8%), not following diet (23%), fatigue (16.1%) stress intensify pain. analgesics (36.8%), resting (31%), complementary approaches (17.2%) other practices (14.9%) relieved when also used words tiring (n=47), sickening (n=42), fearful (n=41) wretched (n=38) define they felt. Conclusion: Measuring categorizing are increase results obtained indicate assessment individualistically will be guide provide holistic approach patients.
